Single parents are pretty much superheroes, after all, raising a child solo is no mean feat.
There are more than thee million lone parent households in the UK, meaning a lot of men and women coordinating after school club schdules, attending parents evenings alone, keeping track of homework, cooking every night, all while going to work, paying bills and doing weekly shops.
We are exhausted just writing that down. So when it comes to the love life of a single parent, it can be tricky to even think about fitting it in.
This is what makes it more frustrating when you are one of the 57% of parents on dating apps that have been ghosted, simply because they have kids.
The limited time parents have to focus on romance should be spent talking to people who get it. Yet a whopping quarter of singles with little ones say they have been stonewalled when their date discovered that they didn’t have a flexible schedule.
This is where Even comes in. Brought to you by the makers of the dating site Match, the new, free app has been designed to help mum or dad find love.
The free app enables singles to view up to 100 profiles a day, or they can subscribe to ‘Even More’ to view unlimited profiles and find out who has liked them.
The new dating app will eliminate any potentially challenging discussions parents have with potential dates about having children.
It gives supermums and superdads the opportunity to match with like-minded individuals, whilst aiming to eradicate the ‘off-springing’ trend.
The trend of off-springing refers to the act of springing off when someone realises you have kids – it was coined by the makers of the new app.
The creators say that whilst having children is forever a part of who parents are, they shouldn’t be defined by this role. They’re even more than that.
Marion Graff, a spokesperson for Even, says: ‘We understand that single parents have a lot to juggle.
‘In between work, children, family and friends it can be hard to make room for dating, but it’s not for a lack of trying.
‘It’s why we’ve launched Even – an app where single parents can chat freely, safely and securely.

‘There’s no more angst about how or when to tell someone you have kids. Even provides a space where you can truly be yourself and prioritise your own needs.
‘I spent many years as a single parent myself and have used that experience to create this app, so single parents enjoy dating once again.’
Earlier this month, Metro.co.uk spoke to Sherelle Folkes on the difficulties of dating as a single mother.
She said: ‘One big thing is figuring out when is the appropriate time to reveal your single mother status.’
Sherelle certainly isn’t alone, as 13% of single parents claim they are unsure when the best time is to broach the topic of children, while 10% admitted they are too scared to tell their date they have kids.
Even is (hopefully) just what parents need and who knows, maybe it will convince some superparent singles to re-enter the dating world, knowing they’ll be meeting others in exactly the same boat.
But it’s not just potential dates’ lack of understanding about parenthood that puts mums and dads off dating.
Over half of the single parents surveyed said being a parent has stopped them from dating altogether.
This was because of the guilt of spending less time with their children and simply having too much on their plate to consider dinner out with a potential love interest.
So, move over Tinder and Hinge, Even is here to give the parents of the world what they really want.
