A pregnant teen stuffed apples up her ex’s car exhaust pipe in a revenge rampage when he broke up with her three weeks after meeting on a dating app.
Melanie Meigh, from Nantwhich in Cheshire, embarked on a campaign of harassment and vandalism against her former lover, which also included stealing his passport and painting obscene words on his house.
The 19-year-old, who is currently seven months’ pregnant, then proceeded to spend the next four days peppering her victim with a string of abusive phone calls, voicemails and text messages, the Chester Standard reports.
She was alleged to have been aided in her campaign by co-defendant Owen Suckling, 24 – although he has since denied his involvement.
Meigh admitted to three counts of theft, four of criminal damage and one of harassment without violence at Warrington Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard how the defendant was already pregnant when she hooked up with her unnamed victim on a dating app, but got dumped just three weeks later after being told he didn’t want to see her anymore.

Following a row between the two on August 12 last year, the victim went to work and left Meigh at his home, returning home later that day to find his house had been vandalised and the defendant still there, accompanied by Suckling.
During his absence, the jilted lover had spray-painted the words ‘c***’ and ‘t***’ on his garden gates and wall, and damaged his bike.
She also stole a number of items from his house including his passport, a box of spanners and £12 in cash.
He later discovered Meigh had also stuffed apples and cans of spray paint up the exhaust of his Nissan pick-up truck, and was soon bombarded with a string of taunting messages such as ‘cheers for the spanners’ and ‘I hope you like apples’.
Stuart Flood, defending, said: ‘The offences themselves are relatively minor, but there are a lot of them. It is a question of maturity, and of pettiness.’
Meigh was granted conditional bail while a pre-sentence report is prepared, with orders not to approach the victim or his property.
She will return to court for sentencing on February 1.
Suckling, of Lee Place, Sandbach, also appeared in court on January 4 and denied three counts of theft, three of criminal damage, and one count of harassment without violence.
He claims he was only at the scene to collect Meigh, and will face trial on May 15.
