A teenage girl allegedly killed her boyfriend’s mother by bludgeoning her with a rock after giving him an ultimatum to commit the crime himself.
Kaitlyn Coones, 17, a foster child from Canton, Ohio, was dating Jonathan Jones, 33, and gave him five hours to get rid of his mother Nicole Jones, 53, because she was intervening in their relationship, according to the prosecutor in the case.
The teen was living in her boyfriend’s bedroom and Nicole may not have known.
‘Kaitlyn had told Jonathan that they needed to do something about his mother because she was preventing them from being together and she gave him five hours to do something about her,’ said Detective Albright of Sylvania Township, according to WOIO.
‘And at one point in the interview, she even mentioned to killing her.’
A judge determined on Friday that Kaitlyn will be tried as an adult in the case, and new details of the alleged murder were emerged for the first time.
Kaitlyn was the custody of Stark County Children Services and vanished in April. She allegedly sent a text message to a nurse at the group home stating that she had killed two people and had fled.
Foster child Kaitlyn Coones, 17, is accused of murdering her 33-year-old boyfriend’s mother for interfering in their relationship.
