Taylor Swift will likely remember this moment all too well and her Swifties will have to shake it off too as she didn’t get the Oscars stamp of approval.
Despite her best efforts, she was omitted from the Oscars best live action short film category for her All Too Well.
On Wednesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced their shortlists for nominees for the 2023 Oscars, which will take place in March.
The Midnights singer’s 15-minute version of All Too Well is a firm favourite among fans, but sadly she didn’t make the cut for the final list of contenders.
All Too Well was a beloved track from the original Red album, a break-up anthem widely believed to have been written about ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.
There were over 80 films that qualified in the category, and the final 15 eligible for nomination were decided by the Short Films and Feature Animation, Directors, Producers, and Writers Branches.

Many fans thought the epic 15-minute short clip for the song would be a sure thing to land on the shortlist, but it wasn’t to be.
Kendrick Lamar, whose We Cry Together was also thought to be a strong contender for a nomination also didn’t make the final shortlist.
Some Swifties were ‘gutted’ at the snub, while others felt it was fair, believing the clip, despite its popularity, didn’t quite qualify as a short film in the traditional sense of the Academy Awards.
‘Gutted,’ wrote one with a crying face emoji. ‘We lost so hard, They knew she was gonna win,’ agreed another.
While others said this ‘snub’ didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
‘Changing that music video’s name to short film doesn’t make it one,’ added another.
While others were quick to point out that some would hate on the singer, 33, no matter what she did, while pointing out that other artists did the same, without the amount of vitriol.

‘Everyone in the comments shaming Taylor for submitting a music video made short film for the oscars and ignoring that so many artist before her have done the same…. Including Kendrick Lamar this exact same year… But you all just wanna hate whenever you can.’
But it wasn’t all bad news for the Anti-hero singer-songwriter. Taylor landed in the original song category shortlist for Carolina, which was featured in Where the Crawdads Sing.
