Gaza ceasefire uncertain as Israel expressed dissatisfaction with the terms, continuing strikes in Rafah while indicating plans to pursue further negotiations for a resolution.

Qatar’s prime minister has said the country is reassessing its role as a mediator between Israel and Hamas. Qatar has been trying to secure a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the release of Israeli hostages.

Hamas has said 18 Palestinians have died after trying to retrieve desperately needed aid that was airdropped over northern Gaza. 

Israel claims that the UN resolution, which calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, has damaged ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas. 

“My national security advisor tells me that we’re close,” Biden said.
