The Guardian – Social media blamed for surge in young people hit by midlife crisis 

The Guardian leads with a survey that has found young people are becoming less happy than older generations as they suffer “the equivalent of a midlife crisis”. The global wellbeing survey, suggests young people are less happy than older generations because of social media.

The US surgeon general, Vivek Murthy, tells the paper the findings are a “red flag that young people are really struggling in the US and now increasingly around the world”.

Elsewhere, Sunak’s asylum plans ‘cost more than hotels’ according to a Whitehall watchdog.
