The actor died on Wednesday (August 6), with his wife, Chiyo, at his side, according to the actor’s daughter, Pennie Cappasola.

While Miyahara was often in scenes on the show, he rarely spoke, instead relying on his deadpan stare to pass comment on the outlandish antics all around him.
His one memorable line of dialogue – ‘Oh, sh*t’ – came in the second season when a tornado tore through the store, leaving many of his co-workers thinking he had died in the intense winds.
Born on August 8, 1941, in Los Angeles, Miyahara briefly reprised his role as Brett in a cameo on NBC’s American Auto, which was also created by Justin Spitzer. He had not other major acting credits.
