DAILY EXPRESS says England’s Lionesses received a boost during the Changing of the Guard yesterday ahead of the Euro 2022 Final at Wembley Stadium. The Queen’s Guards, who played Three Lions ahead of England’s heartbreaking penalty shootout defeat against Italy last year, were filmed performing Neil Diamond’s hit 1969 single Sweet Caroline.
Despite being used by MLB side Boston Red Sox since 1997, Sweet Caroline is a fan favourite among both English and Northern Irish football supporters.

Brexit: Truss and Sunak told to immediately withdraw £11bn in EU funds as row erupts
DAILY EXPRESS says BRITAIN should withdraw from the EU’s science projects, including Horizons Europe and the Copernicus satellite constellation, into which it is currently committed to paying £11billion, a pro-Brexit think tank has said.
The UK continues to pay vast sums of money into programmes including Horizon, Copernicus, Euratom Research & Training, and Fusion for Energy even though its scientific community has been blocked from participating for the past 18 months. A report published today by Facts4EU broke the amount owing to the bloc into yearly sums covering the next six years of the EU’s budget.

August heatwave: 40C August hot weather ‘not impossible’ as Azores high pressure hits
DAILY EXPRESS says SIMMERING coastal waters warmed by the historic July blaze will keep Britain on heatwave alert through the last leg of summer. The UK is once again facing an extreme temperature surge amid warnings another 40C heat spike in August is ‘not impossible’.
It will be fuelled by the return of the Azores High–a semi-permanent area of sub-tropical high pressure stretching from the Atlantic Azores Islands into Britain. However, warming sea waters around the UK will bolster rising air temperatures as the nation braces for another fire blast, experts say. Jim Dale, meteorologist for British Weather Services, said: “The sea is warmer around the British coast, and this will contribute to whether we see another spell of hot weather.
