Students trapped amid Iran protests clashes
According to recent reports, a large number of students at Sharif University in Tehran are trapped in the campus car park, as clashes between Iranian police and students rage on.
Videos appeared on social media showing students of the country’s most prestigious university, running away from security forces, with gunshots apparently fired.
Protests have swept Iran in recent weeks following the death of a woman detained by the morality police.
The 22-year-old fell into a coma hours after being arrested for allegedly breaking headscarf rules. She was allegedly beaten in the head with a baton. The police have denied the claims.
Protests started at Ms Amini’s funeral and soon swept across the country to quickly become the worst unrest Iran has seen in many years.
