‘The boy who cried wolf’ best describes the latest racist installment from Nigel Farage who remains defiant that Reform UK is not racist party and claims the video made by channel 4 was a set up.
Reform UK is not racist party
Footage showing racist comments by a Reform party member exposed by Channel 4 has been circulating on social media showing Mr Parker of Reform UK calling the Prime MInister “a fucking Paki”.
In addition to the slur directed at the prime minister, Mr Parker was also heard describing Islam as “the most disgusting cult out” and suggesting army recruits should carry out “target practice” by shooting at small boats bringing illegal migrants to the UK.
Mr Parker, Clacton, Reform UK
Despite the harrowing evidence Mr Farage has refused to apologise to Muslims for the actions of his candidate. And instead is spinning this tirade as a set up to attack his party.
Mr Farage described the comments as a “tirade of invective abuse” but suggested the man may have been paid.
Refused to apologise to Muslims
Speaking at a Reform UK event in Boston, Lincolnshire, party leader Nigel Farage said the party was not “perfect”. But refused to apologise to Muslims or the Prime Minister for the racial slurs.
Instead he went on to justify the comments saying “We’ve had one or two candidates that have said things they shouldn’t have said,” he said. “In most cases they’re just speaking like ordinary folk.” suggesting that is an acceptable way to communicate.
Muslims out of the mosques
At one point echoed the sentiments of Reform party members where Mr Parker tells voters Reform would be “kicking all the Muslims out of the mosques and turning them into Wetherspoons”.
83% of Muslims in the UK believe that reform Uk would not allow them to practise there religion.
Reform UK put out a statement but again did not apologise for the racist comments. A carefully crated statement which distanced themselves from Andrew Parker. Chairman of the Reform party Richard Tice said the racist comments were simply “inappropriate”.
Islamophobia in British society
Channel 4 News said it stood by its “rigorous and duly impartial journalism” adding that it met Mr Parker for the first time at Reform UK party headquarters and had not paid him any money.
Speaking on BBC Question Time Mr Farage was subsequently asked about other comments made by Reform UK candidates including Edward Oakenfull who wrote offensive social media posts about the IQ of sub-Saharan Africans.
Andrew Parker, is a canvasser for Mr Farage, who was personally working for Nigel Farage in Clacton in order to get him elected. Mr Farage denied knowing him personally.
Mr Farage said he disowned all the candidates that have been caught as racist in question adding: “I want nothing to do with them.” But it still remains to establish whether he has kicked all the racists out of his party.
