Strictly couple has ‘lost passion’ on the dancefloor and could leave next

Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington could be taking the final bow on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.

The pair have managed to survive the dreaded dance-off two weeks running, but the Blackpool special may be third time UNlucky for Angela, 79, and Kai, 28.

Body language expert Darren Stanton, who was peaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, believes that their passion for the series has gone.

‘I can tell that their passion for their routines is starting to dip, which makes me think Angela is coming towards the end of her time,’ he told Metro.co.uk.

‘I think we will be saying bye to Angela and Kai after Blackpool.’

Although Darren recognises that the pair have a close bond, he doesn’t think it’ll be enough to take them further in the competition.

‘Angela and Kai may have a tight relationship that has come from a great connection, but she isn’t on the same level as the other celebrities.’

The pair will be performing an American Smooth to Tea for Two by Ella Fitzgerald in a bid to keep their place on the BBC series, and despite ballroom being Angela’s speciality Darren thinks she knows her time on Strictly is coming to an end.

‘I believe she knows she can’t keep trying to keep up with the more talented contestants. I can see her being in trouble,’ he concluded.

Annabel and Johannes could be joining them in the dance-off (Picture: PA)

Angela has become Strictly’s version of Ru Paul’s Drag Race’s lip sync assassins – perhaps we’ll call her the dance-off terminator (we’re not sure that one will catch on… we’ll keep working on it!). She beat Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk, as well as Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Lauren Oakley to dance another day, so we shouldn’t rule her out yet!

Darren predicts that they’ll face Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe, who is also taking on the ballroom style to Unchained Melody by Benedetta Caretta.

‘I can see that cracks are beginning to show with Annabel and Johannes,’ he explained.

Nigl and Katya could be finalists (Picture: PA)

‘They won’t have long left in the competition and will be going head-to-head with Angela and Kai in terms of going home.

‘We’ve seen her flashing signs of frustration and nervousness more recently. This suggests she could be struggling and finding herself falling behind.’

Darren believes that Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu will then be in danger, leaving Nigel Harman and Katya Jones, Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, Bobby Brazier andDianne Buswell, as well as Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola as the 2023 finalists.
