    TRAGIC ACCIDENT
    A 90-year-old woman and her daughter have died in a car crash in Rickmansworth, with a 22-year-old man arrested by Hertfordshire Constabulary on suspicion of drug driving.
    TRAGIC ACCIDENT
    Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed a 22-year-old man has been released on police bail after being arrested in connection with the incident on White Hill, Rickmansworth.
    POLICE INVESTIGATION
    Hertfordshire Constabulary is continuing its investigation into the crash, and is appealing for information or dash cam footage from witnesses.

    What we know so far

    A 90-year-old woman and her daughter have died following a car crash in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, with a man arrested on suspicion of drug driving. Emergency services responded to the incident on White Hill at approximately 3pm on Tuesday.

    According to Hertfordshire Constabulary, the collision involved a silver Kia Picanto and a grey BMW 118i M Sport. The elderly passenger of the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene, while her daughter, who is in her 60s, was airlifted to a hospital and later succumbed to her injuries.

    The man, aged 22 and from Watford, has been arrested on charges of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving. He has since been released on police bail as investigations continue. DC Dale Morris expressed condolences, stating, ‘This is a devastating loss of a mother and daughter,’ and urged anyone with information or dash cam footage to contact the police.

    A 90-year-old mum and her daughter have been killed in a car crash, with a man arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

    Emergency services were called to White Hill, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, around 3pm on Tuesday.

    Hertfordshire Constabulary said a silver Kia Picanto and a grey BMW 118i M Sport had been involved in the crash, with the passenger of the Kia – a woman in her 90s – pronounced dead at the scene.

    Her daughter, who is aged in her 60s, was airlifted to hospital but died the following night.

    Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

    A 22-year-old man, from Watford, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving.

    He’s since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

    DC Dale Morris, from Hertfordshire Constabulary, said: ‘This is a devastating loss of a mother and daughter, and my thoughts are with their loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

    ‘Our enquires are ongoing as we continue to establish the full circumstances of the collision.

    ‘If anyone has any information, or captured any dash cam footage, please report it to the police.’

    No further details about the mum and daughter have been released yet by police.
