Ellie Taylor has been dealt her fair share of criticism on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, but she’s taking it in her stride.
The Ted Lasso actress took to the dancefloor to perform the jive to Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison with professional partner Johannes Radebe in week 10.
Ellie and Johannes gave ultimate Thelma and Louise vibes, headscarfs and all, and some seriously lively choreography.
However, the judges weren’t the biggest of fans, particularly resident Mr. Nasty, Craig Revel Horwood.
The critic told Ellie following her pink-tastic performance: ‘It lacked punch, it lacked precision, the footwork was messy, you went wrong… All in all it was lacklustre, I’m afraid.’
However, Ellie remained the comical queen we know and love her as, flashing a thumbs up and funny facial expression in Craig’s direction.

Motsi Mabuse then added: ‘We need a bit of pendulum and suspension in the legs so it’s a bit lighter. And that was missing a bit.’
Ellie was awarded a score of 25 out of 40 for her routine, with Craig specifically giving her a five.
However, Ellie, as Johannes would say, stayed ‘full of beans,’ and was even able to see the positives in a low score.
‘At least it’s not a four!’, she declared and, honestly, we love her for it.

The Ellie Taylor Defence Squad was also out in full force as viewers watched at home, keen to hype up her performance.
‘The sarcastic thumbs up! Gotta love Ellie’, one viewer joked.
‘I will defend Ellie Taylor with my life’, wrote another.
One Twitter users even accused the panel of ‘picking on’ Ellie, adding: ‘She may not be the best dancer, but the comments and scores are needlessly harsh.’
A second viewer noted it was ‘uncomfortable’ to watch the judges ‘tear down’ Ellie.

‘Every single week the judges are overly critical to Ellie and nobody else. Every week. It’s getting really irritating now’, penned a third.
Ellie and Johannes will be hoping their performance was enough to secure the viewers’ votes at home, as that glitzy final inches closer.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow on BBC One.
