Fans were outraged after Fleur found herself in the bottom two for the third time (Picture: PA)
Strictly Come Dancing viewers were in disbelief after Fleur East found herself in the dance-off for the third time.
The X Factor star, 35, and professional partner Vito Coppola, 30, competed for a place in Friday’s (December 2) quarter-final against Ted Lasso actress Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe.
Ellie performed her Jive to Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, Fleur re-did her performance of the Rumba to Too Lost in You by the Sugababes.
Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke opted to save Fleur, with head judge Shirley saying: ‘Both couples danced exceptionally well but on this occasion, down to the technique qualities, I’d have saved Fleur and Vito.’
Although the radio presenter made it through to the quarter-finals, fans were outraged that Fleur was even there to begin with.
‘Fleur being in the dance off AGAIN is just an absolute p**s take, pure and simple,’ one person tweeted.
‘Really wondering what’s wrong with the public voters. Fleur shouldn’t have been in dance-off. Sick of seeing it. I will miss Johannes and Ellie though,’ another remarked.
The Sax hitmaker has had quite the Strictly journey so far, having been in the bottom two times before and even restarted one of her routines.
However, during last weekend’s Blackpool spectacular Fleur and Vito scored the first 40 of the series with an electric Couples Choice to a Destiny’s Child megamix.

Following on from their success, Fleur and Vito’s Rumba received a mixed reaction from the judges, with Craig saying: ‘I felt like you were holding back and that was like a block for some reason… but I loved the connection that you had with each other.’
Shirley added: ‘I thought it was extremely passionate, I was getting all hot and bothered over here!’
But, the radio host still earned an impressive score of 35 out of 40, which consisted of three eights and a nine.

Despite the mixed response, Fleur was overjoyed by the score and actually headbutted Vito out of excitement.
‘You are celebrating with a headbutt!’, host Claudia Winkleman exclaimed.
Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday at 5:40pm on BBC One.
