Questions are continuing to swirl Stranger Things following the heart-wrenching ending of season 4 and how the stories of everyone’s favourite characters could possibly be brought to a close.
While there’s a while to wait until season 5 – which will mark the end of the sensational sci-fi show – Noah Schnapp has offered a tantalising tease about what lies ahead for Will Byers.
Will has had a tumultuous journey from the start, having been abducted at the beginning and lost in the horrifying Upside Down.
Although he was eventually rescued by his mother Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Hawkins chief of police Jim Hopper (David Harbour), he’s never quite been the same since, retaining a connection to the creatures that dwell in the parallel world.
In the latest episodes, Will and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) weren’t having the best time at their new school in California, and when they returned to their hometown of Hawkins, Will sensed a connection with Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), who turned out to be the big bad at the centre of his trauma.
So what could be ahead for Will, who was also recently left in tears while trying to cope with his strong feelings for his friend Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) in secret?

When asked about the fifth season by Forbes, Noah said: ‘I can just tell you that I’m very very excited for what’s to come.’
The 18-year-old continued: ‘I think they did a great job with Will’s character this season, and beautifully addressed everything they needed to. The way they closed the show is just perfect – the story started with Will, and it’ll end with Will.’
That sounds to us as though Will’s business with the Upside Down is far from over.
Considering his alter ego in the world of Dungeons & Dragons is the powerful wizard Will the Wise, perhaps he could manifest his own Eleven-style powers to bring down Vecna for good?
Now wouldn’t that be something.
In November, the show’s creators, Ross and Matt Duffer (otherwise known as the Duffer brothers) teased how the series will conclude.

‘[Season] five, the way we see it, is kind of a culmination of all the seasons, so it’s got a little bit from each,’ Ross said.
‘I think that what we’re trying to do is go back to the beginning a little bit, in sort of the tone of one. But also scale-wise, it’s more aligned with what four is. So, hopefully, it’s got a little bit of everything.’
Stranger Things is available to watch on Netflix.
