Stevie Nicks has sweetly expressed her appreciation for Lizzo following her acceptance speech at the People’s Choice Awards 2022.
Lizzo was among the winners at this year’s star-studded ceremony and took home the People’s Champion Award.
As she went on stage to collect her accolade, the Truth Hurts singer pointed out the importance of celebrities using their platforms as a force for change before bringing out 17 activists, naming each one, and sharing the causes they fight for.
Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie was blown away by Lizzo’s move and shared a message celebrating her ‘beautiful’ presentation.
‘Dearest Lizzo – In my opinion~ your presentation last night on the People’s Choice Awards was not only so beautiful and so needed~ that you get the award for being a great woman of our time,’ she penned.

Stevie continued: ‘I was so impressed and so touched that you put that together and pulled it off.
‘It was stunning – and everyone heard you. You have given all women soundbites forever – flute player, singer, songwriter, future politician…?’
Concluding her message, she signed off: ‘Your name is in the stars now,’ singing off in saying, ‘Much Love, Stevie Nicks.’
During Tuesday’s award show, Lizzo was introduced by her mother Shari Johnson-Jefferson who commended her daughter for being a ‘champion of others’.

Accepting her award, Lizzo told the crowd: ‘So, I’m going to be honest. When I first heard about this award, I was on the fence about whether I should accept.
‘Because if I’m the people’s champ, I don’t need a trophy for championing people. You know what I’m saying?’
She continued: ‘I’m here tonight, because to be an icon isn’t about how long you’ve had your platform. Being an icon is what you do with that platform.
‘And ever since the beginning of my career, I have used my platform to amplify marginalised voices. So, tonight I am sharing this honour. Make some noise for the people, y’allz,’ Lizzo said as women walked from behind her onto the stage.
‘These are all activists and people that I think deserve the spotlight. Make some noise for them right now.’
