Steve Wright’s BBC Radio co-star bursts into tears live on-air over his death
The death of radio legend Steve Wright has shaken his friends, as fellow BBC presenter Nicki Chapman struggled to keep it together on air.
Wright’s family confirmed his death aged 69 with ‘deep sorrow and profound regret’ in a statement shared on Tuesday, February 13.
The Radio 2 DJ had been working just days before, pre-recording a Valentine’s Day special of his popular Love Songs programme which aired on Sunday.
Chapman, who had her own health scare in 2019, choked up as she returned to air for her Breakfast Show after the devastating news.
