Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has said he will soon reveal “the truth” about his future after reading so many “lies” from the media.

It’s reported Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United so he can play Championship football – but new manager Erik ten Hag has said Cristiano is “not for sale” and part of his plans for the club.

But it’s been widely reported that Ronaldo, 37 might be let go before the transfer window closes on 1 September.

“They [will] know the truth when they interview in a couple weeks,” Ronaldo said on Instagram.

Ronaldo liked a post on a fan account which referred to a report that Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was interested in signing him.

But in a reply to the post, Ronaldo added: “The media is telling lies.”

“I have a notebook and in the last few months of the 100 news [stories] I made, only five were right. Imagine how it is. Stick with that tip.”

Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United last year and still has a year left on this contract.

But he’s returned to a very different Manchester United club – one that finished sixth in the Premier League last season and missed out on Champions League qualification.

Manchester United are now bottom of the table for the first time since the 1992-93 season after losing their opening two games of the season.

But Ronaldo was United’s top scorer last season – and third top scorer in the Premier League for the season.

But he missed their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia and after being replaced at half-time of United’s friendly against Rayo Vallecano, Ronaldo and other players left the game early. Ten Hag said the behaviour was “unacceptable.”
