Shock as Pakistan ex-PM Imran Khan shot

The former PM of Pakistan Imran Khan was shot in the leg on Thursday at a protest march in Warzirabad in the north-east of the country. 

Khan is recovering in hospital and his team says he is in a stable condition and could leave the hospital within days. 

One person has been killed and 10 injured in the attack on the former PM’s convoy. 

The attack – which Khan’s supporters say was an assassination attempt– has drawn international condemnation. 

The former cricketer turned politician remains popular with voters but was ousted in April in a parliamentary vote.

He has been fighting to return to politics, as the country deals with the ongoing economic crisis and devastating floods.
