Shaun Ryder certainly threw himself into the I’m A Celebrity…South Africa trials after revealing his replacement hip ‘popped out.’
The Happy Mondays singer, 60, is taking on the bushtucker trials once again, alongside the likes of Carol Vorderman, Phil Tufnell and Helen Flanagan for a special edition of I’m A Celebrity which was recorded in South Africa in 2022.
The songwriter – who was runner-up back in 2010 – was in the all stars camp for two days when an unfortunate mishap while sleeping.
Speaking ahead of the series premiere, he said: ‘I had been in there two nights, and boom, f** hell, my hip had come out.
‘I pushed it back in myself. I didn’t want to see a doctor. Paul Burrell helped me out, he was a professional.’
Some may recall Shaun had a tumultuous relationship with celebrity nutritionist Gillian McKeith during their time in the jungle together – which saw Stacey Solomon being crowned Queen – however the star doesn’t really remember his stint on the show.

‘All I can remember about the (Bushtucker) Trials is eating a lot of penises, testicles and eyeballs!’ he added.
Pretty much sums up the I’m A Celeb experience.
This comes after hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly promised this would be a ‘tougher’ series than ever before.
‘It is so good. It is very different and some of your favourite cast members from the past 20 years have been given another challenge in South Africa and this time they are competing to become the first ever I’m A Celebrity legend,’ Dec explained while appearing on This Morning.
‘But the trials are tougher, the living conditions are tougher.
