Grace Kumar is understood to be the second victim
The second student victim of the attack in Nottingham has been named as Grace Kumar.
Grace is understood to be one of two 19-year-olds killed in the attack in the city centre this morning, NottinghamshireLive reports.
It is said she was walking home from a nightclub with the other student victim, Barnaby Webber, when they were stabbed in Ilkeston Road.
The University of Nottingham said Grace was a talented hockey player in the first team.
A third victim, a 51-year-old man, was found dead not far away in Magdala Road.
At a press conference Chief Constable Kate Meynell said it was believed the older man’s van had been stolen and was driven at three people in Milton Street.
One man remains in hospital in a critical condition while two others suffered minor injuries following that incident.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Barnaby Webber is one of the victims of an attack in Nottingham
Chief Constable Meynell said Nottinghamshire Police is still in the ‘early stages’ of the investigation and they were still working on determining a motive for the attack.
She added: ‘We are keeping an open mind and are working closely with counter-terrorism policing to establish the facts as we would normally do in this type of circumstance.
‘The families of all the victims have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.
‘A team of dedicated detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and will continue to gather evidence over the coming days.’
This is a breaking story.
