Samuel L Jackson left a gala event in New York after a ‘tiff’ with his wife LaTanya Richardson, it has been reported.
The 74-year-old and his wife LaTanya, 73, were both being honoured at the Theatre Communications Group gala on Monday night, but Samuel left the event before they had even accepted their award.
The pair met while attending separate colleges in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1970 and married in 1980.
Pulp Fiction star Samuel and LaTanya arrived at the event at the Edison Ballroom together, but Samuel ‘appeared annoyed’ and had left the event before LaTanya accepted the award, presented by Vanessa Williams, on her own.
A source told Page Six: ‘They apparently were in a fight when they arrived. They posed for pictures together and then the fight [went on].’
The publication also reported that LaTanya explained Samuel had left early due to ‘COVID-19 concerns’ as he is currently starring on Broadway.

A representative for the gala said: ‘As the top-billed star of “The Piano Lesson,” Mr. Jackson is extraordinarily cautious about the risk putting the production in jeopardy by exposing himself to COVID-19.
‘Ms. Jackson accepted on behalf of both she and her husband simply to minimize his risk of exposure.

‘Mr. Jackson had only ever planned on doing photos and then leaving, as everyone involved with planning the event knew in advance.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted a representative for Samuel for comment on this story.

Just last year, Samuel opened up on his marriage, telling People magazine: ‘It’s two people who respect each other, love each other and look out for each other.’
LaTanya added: ‘In the beginning, we always said the most revolutionary thing that Black people could do was stay together, raise their children with the nucleus of having a father and a mother, since everybody likes to pretend that that’s not the dynamic of the African American family.

‘That it’s just children out here being raised by women, which we know is false. In order to change that narrative, we made a decision to say, “We are going to stay together no matter what. We’ll figure it out.”‘
The stars are parents to daughter Zoe, 40, who is a TV producer, best known for her work on RuPaul’s Drag Race and Top Chef.
