Ryan Reynolds gushed over Hugh Jackman’s latest role in The Son and called for him to be recongised with an Oscars nomination in a jovial video on Wednesday.
The Deadpool star and the Wolverine actor have been locked in a playful feud for a decade, regularly poking fun at one another in interviews and online.
Their latest battle was over a song from Ryan’s Christmas movie Spirited which landed on the 2023 Oscars original song shortlist – following which Hugh playfully begged the Academy not to nominate his fellow Marvel actor.
In his response video, Ryan, 46, pushed the pair’s supposed drama to the side and fawned over Hugh’s latest performance.
He began the video clip by acknowledging and addressing the actor’s previous jibe at him, stating: ‘Hey everyone, you know last week Hugh Jackman lovingly asked the Academy to not vote for our song Good Afternoon in the best song category – well I’m not going to stoop to that level.

‘I’m going to rise to the occasion and rise above it all.’
He then started to applaud Hugh, 54, for his work and insisted there was no ‘sarcasm’ involved.
Ryan continued: ‘I loved Hugh’s performance in The Son.
‘There’s zero sarcasm here, no wink-wink, nudge-nudge but Hugh’s performance is literally one of the best of his entire career and his career is very impressive already.
‘He’s already nominated for a Golden Globe so I humbly submit Hugh for your consideration… okay.’

Unable to remain serious for the entire length of the footage, the notoriously funny celebrity allowed the camera to keep rolling after it had fallen onto the floor and addressed Marvel co-star rumours.
Poking fun at the Wolverine star, Ryan slammed the supposed Deadpool 3 title that encompassed both character names and dismissed any mention of the new character.
The husband of Blake Lively could be heard saying: ‘Wolverine and Deadpool… you must be kiddin’.
‘Not in your life chappie.’
Hugh plays an overworked father – Peter Miller – who is struggling to connect with his depressed teenage son in the new drama and lost out to a Golden Globe for best actor to Elvis’s Austin Butler.
