Robbie Williams has spilled some truths about his crush on Kylie Minogue, confessing that he ‘messed up’ on the chance to strike up a romance with the singing sensation.
In 2000, the duo teamed up to release an unforgettable single called Kids from Robbie’s third studio album, Sing When You’re Winning, and Kylie’s seventh studio album, Light Years.
The track proved a huge hit at the time of its launch, reaching number two on the charts in the UK.
Behind the scenes, Robbie, 48, was crushing hard on Kylie, 54… but was too nervous to act smooth in front of the Can’t Get You Out of My Head musician.
The former Take That star appeared on Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 2 show My Life Thru a Lens in an interview broadcast on Friday, when the subject of his connection with Kylie came up.
‘You and Kylie, what was going on there?’ Scott asked directly.
‘Not as much as I wanted it to be, unfortunately,’ responded Robbie, who’s been married to Ayda Field since 2010.
‘Messed that up,’ he added, before outlining the impact Kylie had on him when they met in-person.
‘Just by being 13 whenever I was around her, like it’s the girl in the year above me, “I don’t know how to speak to you.” My crush of all crushes,’ he remarked.
While romance wasn’t on the cards for the pair, the legacy of their musical collaboration lives on.

In September this year, Robbie opened up on how he was ‘still crushing’ on Kylie 22 years after their song came out.
‘The longest crush on Kylie. I was honoured and I still am to be on a record with her. Dreamy. Still crushed. Still crushing,’ he told British Vogue.
While Kylie and Robbie never got together in real life, their sizzling chemistry was apparent when they performed on stage, and they even shared a kiss in the music video for Kids.
Kylie is currently in a relationship with British GQ creative director Paul Solomons, with the couple having first started dating in 2018.
