Rishi Sunak has vowed to be ‘Santa not Scrooge’ when it comes to unveiling his new budget.
The Prime Minister is currently in Egypt to attend COP27, where he will meet other world leaders to discuss environmental factors facing the world.
Upon his return, Mr Sunak will be tasked with preparing a new budget for the country.
October’s mini-budget, forged by Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng, led to weeks of chaos and, ultimately, resignations.
Rebuilding trust, as well as the country’s finances, will be no easy tasks for their replacements.
Mr Sunak has vowed his Cabinet will ‘deliver growth’ for the county’s economy.
The Tory leader was asked by the Sun if his upcoming Budget would make him a Santa or a Scrooge.

Rishi Sunak will advocate a ‘global mission’ that would limit temperature rises to 1.5C when he addresses the Cop27 climate summit in Egypt in a speech today.
He is expected to say it is essential countries stick to commitments made at the Cop26 summit hosted by the UK in Glasgow, if it is to limit warming to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels and avoid the worst impacts of climate change.

At the same time, he will argue that the transition away from fossil fuels has the potential to drive growth and deliver jobs in the new green industries of the future, while cutting off funding for Russia’s war in Ukraine.
The prime minister is expected to urge world leaders to renew pledges made at last year’s Cop26 in Glasgow, with the UK committing £200million to protect forests and invest in green technologies.
Mr Sunak’s speech comes as an alarming UN report warns that, as 2022 nears an end, the past eight years are on track to be the eight hottest on record.
After a series of climate-related disasters this year, the internationally agreed 1.5C limit for global warming is now ‘barely within reach’, the World Meteorological Organization said.
