The prime minister bringing back the ban on fracking is described as a “relief” by The Independent, quoting an environmental campaigner who said the move was “setting a good tone”.

The front page of the paper features a picture of the new prime minister at his first PMQs. The paper says the Tories loved Rishi’s performance, but for the Independent “his answers sounded very familiar.”
