Real Madrid are eyeing up Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries, who was interesting the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in the recent transfer window.
The 26-year-old has regularly been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent years, although it now looks like a switch to La Liga could be more likely.
Spanish publication Fichajes report that Real Madrid are aware of Inter wanting to bring in funds this summer and that the Italian side wants around £35m for the Dutch full-back.
Inter only signed Dumfries in 2021 and he is under contract until 2025 so, although they are willing to sell, they will insist on a significant price for him.
While Dumfries has long been touted as a signing for a Premier League club, growing interest from the Spanish capital coincides with waning interest from England.
Chelsea were strongly linked during the January window, but instead signed Malo Gusto from Lyon, and although the teenager has returned to the Ligue 1 side on loan for the rest of the season, the Blues are now unlikely to sign another right-back in the summer.
Although, it would be silly to rule out anything when it comes to Chelsea’s current transfer policy.
Old Trafford has also been talked up as a possible destination for Dumfries, but their desire for a new right-back also seems to have eased thanks to the performances of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Diogo Dalot has been first choice in the position under Erik ten Hag and Wan-Bissaka looked set for an exit, but with the Portugal international injured the Englishman has stepped into the void and been impressive, meaning United have two good options in the position.
Ten Hag may still want to improve on both in the summer, but whether Dumfries would be the right option for him is unclear.
