A woman with hair longer than she is tall may need to finally have a hair cut as she keeps stepping on the ends.
Alla Perkova, 39-year-old fashion and hair model, claims to be ‘the one and only Rapunzel in Ukraine’ thanks to her luscious 6ft long locks, which she credits to good genetics, diet and gentle brushing.
Long shining hair grows in the family: her 80-year-old mother Maria Perkova has hair to her knees.
Alla thanks her mother for giving her tips on growing her hair and keeping it healthy. Maria is the only person that’s ever trimmed Alla’s hair: once when she was two and again aged twelve.
‘That is it, apart from that the scissors have not touched my hair in almost 40 years,’ Alla said.
‘My hair is shiny and healthy because I have good genetics and excellent health. I never follow a diet. I try to be calm.
‘I do not dye my hair with any dye. I comb my hair gently and slowly. I don’t do or use anything special.’

But the time has come for Alla to consider breaking two decades of tradition – and her mother’s wishes – to give herself a trim.
She said: ‘My mum has asked me never to cut my hair but I am now stepping on the ends of my hair. This makes me uncomfortable. I might have to cut my hair a little.
‘I will never cut it short, but a trim might be necessary.’
Alla recently found out she is having a baby boy. She thinks he will be ‘comfortable in the arms of such a long-haired mother.’

Alla never aspired to have a record hair length, she studied law.
But now she’s an inspiration for her Instagram followers who tell her she’s their motivator for growing their hair.
Alla is a celebrity in her own right in the Ukraine with an award named after her in an international beauty contest.
She said: ‘In my country, I am known as the first and only real ‘Rapunzel’, I have the right to award my personal title “Rapunzel by Alla Perkova” to little girls with healthy hair who take part in an international hair beauty contest ‘Rapunzel”.
While she loves wearing it out, Alla knows how to do more than fifty hairstyles, with a variation of braids, tails and bundles.
Allas’ family are very supportive of her long hair and want her to keep growing it even though it is on the floor already.
‘My husband, who I have been married to for eleven years, takes pride in my hair and sometimes he helps me comb it,’ she said.
