Gizelle Bryant has vowed that she will no longer be holding back at the upcoming Real Housewives of Potomac season seven reunion, and we’re not sure we’re ready…
The RHOP OG threw herself into the drama at the beginning of the series when she accused Chris Bassett of making her feel ‘completely uncomfortable’ during an unaired private conversation, which she claimed took place backstage at the last reunion.
The Reasonably Shady podcast host made her feelings known to co-star Candiace Dillard, who instantly jumped to her partner’s defense – breaking the fourth wall in heated scenes at a dance studio, and insisting that she wasn’t happy with the chef being ‘maligned’ for the sake of a ‘storyline’.
Drama inevitably ensued and their friendship was fractured over the arguments, with the 52-year-old shedding light on where they stand now.
‘Candiace and I are where we need to be. Which is, I know who she is, I’ve seen who she is and I wish her the best. I wish her and her husband the best. It’s unfortunate…,’ she said during an appearance on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast.
‘Candiace is a fun girl. You can go out with her, you can have fun, but then to have a real hardcore relationship with her, and for you to expect that she’s going to be an adult, and have adult conversations… I’ve just never got that from her.’

Discussing the incident, which was aired near the beginning of the current series, she claimed that there were aspects to her story that she ‘hasn’t said’ so far, to protect her castmate – but teased that this is no longer the case.
‘I chose all my words carefully. I didn’t add any extra drama and hot sauce and tea to it, which I know how to do very well,’ she continued.
‘I didn’t do that because we were friends. Now, we’re no longer friends, so I can really get to the tea and the nitty-gritty of it all. That’s what the reunion is for.
‘I know my truth and I know how I feel about things, and that’s what I will speak on. There are things I haven’t said, to protect Candiace’s feelings because we were friends.

‘I can say whatever I want now and feel good about it.’
Clarifying her comments, Gizelle added: ‘This is not a dun dun dun moment. However, I very much respected and wanted to protect the sanctity of our friendship at the dance studio.
‘Based on how she has reacted on social media and how she has played this all the way out and she’s the victim, I no longer feel that way. So I will not hold back [at the reunion].’
Her words come after Candiace previously spoke on the same podcast, explaining that Chris had found the rumors surrounding their relationship tough to deal with.

In the candid conversation, she revealed that he was ‘not well’ over the scenes.
‘He’s better now. He was not well. As Dorinda [Medley] would say, “Not well, b***h,”’ she told the hosts. ‘He was not well for quite a while. It was a mind eff for him to have this picture painted of him because that’s what Gizelle did.
‘She painted a picture of him that didn’t belong to him. She created a narrative that was completely false and damaging and hurtful.
‘We were blown away at the number of messages and comments of people that were calling BS and saying that they didn’t believe it. But there’s always that 0.5 percent that says, “Oh, he did it,” or whatever they say.

‘There are headlines that will live on the internet that insinuate that my husband is a predator, and you can’t undo that. And that’s why it’s so damaging for people to be able to make things up.
‘It’s hurtful, and he was very hurt by it.’
As well as Potomac and podcasts, Gizelle and Candiace also took their drama to Thailand for Ultimate Girls Trip season three, which is on the way soon.
It looks like there is a lot more to come…
Real Housewives of Potomac airs on Sundays on Bravo in the US.
