Zayn Malik has surfaced on social media with a rare selfie, sending his fans into a spin.
The former One Direction star uploaded a photo of himself sitting in a car and gazing into the camera.
The singer, who recently turned 30, was dressed warmly in collared shirt and textured orange jumper, with a scarf around his neck.
He wore his hair in its natural colour and cropped at the sides in a new haircut, swept back off its face.
Zayn last offered a candid glimpse of himself back in November, when his hair was chin-length and parted in the middle and he was rocking pink ends.
Fans were delighted to catch another glimpse of their favourite with the new photo, which Zayn uploaded without a caption.

‘WE MISSED YOU!!’ exclaimed one follower, while another joked: ‘King of Zelfies ❤️’
‘Mouth = dropped,’ posted a fan while another asked: ‘Zaynnnnn, where have you been locaaaa?!’
Others were clamouring for more music from him.
‘Waiting for your next album king 👑,’ prompted one user.
Zayn previously teased fans with the possibility of new music after uploading a cryptic trailer video that hinted at a Jimi Hendrix collaboration last year.

It was later revealed to be a new recording of his song Angel, from Hendrix’s 1971 posthumous studio album The Cry of Love.
‘Being asked to collaborate to celebrate @jimihendrix 80th birthday was such an unexpected and huge honour,’ Zayn wrote on Twitter as he shared a snippet of the track.
‘I have so much respect and admiration for Jimi, his music and fans. Angel is out now – hope you love the track as much as I do. Happy 80th Jimi,’ he added.
Zayn’s ex-bandmates Liam Payne and Niall Horan rushed to congratulate their former One Direction pal Harry Styles following his big Grammys triumph, which included edging out Beyoncé and Adele to win the coveted album of the year gong.

Alongside a snap of hitmaker Harry looking down at his trophy, Liam penned: ‘Wow… this image is really something to wake up to and when you write music like you do Harry you deserve every millisecond of that moment looking down smiling at the trophy you’ve earned. God bless you brother congratulations.’
Meanwhile, Niall simply posted a photo of his old bandmate on stage, writing: ‘Very proud.’

Zayn left the group in 2015, shortly before the band went on a still-ongoing hiatus.
He has since released three solo albums, enjoyinf peak position at number one with his first, Mind of Mine, as well as one of its breakout singles, Pillowtalk.
