Rangers have become the worst-ever team in Champions League history after their 3-1 defeat to Ajax on Tuesday evening.
The result means Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side have finished bottom of Group A with no points and a goal difference of -20 after scoring just once in six games.
Rangers, who also lost both of their group games against Liverpool and Napoli, have now registered the worst group stage of any club since the Champions League was rebranded in 1992.
Dinamo Zagreb were the previous holders of this unwanted record as they finished bottom of their group with no points and a -19 goal difference in a group that featured Real Madrid, Lyon and Ajax in 2011/12.
