Queen mourners with no way home allowed to sleep in welfare trains – but locations kept secret
The i says Members of the public who have been left stranded in London overnight after visiting the Queen’s coffin are being allowed to sleep in empty trains in the capital.
Vacant carriages are being kept open at certain stations for passengers who miss the last service home after standing in line to pay their respects to Her Majesty.
Network Rail, which has arranged for the trains to be opened, has not yet publicised the stations at which they have been placed, however it has been reported that empty trains are being used at King’s Cross and Waterloo.
