PSNI data breach: Police officers concerned over safety following data breach
Former Northern Ireland justice minister Naomi Long has expressed concerns about the well-being of police officers and their families in the region following a data breach.
An error lead to sensitive details being disclosed, and have led to officers fearing they could be in danger.
Long added that the leak might lead to some officers to contemplate their continued service within the force.
The incident stemmed from a Freedom of Information (FoI) request, to which the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) unintentionally shared information about the identities, locations, and roles of both police and civilian personnel. Unfortunately, these details were briefly accessible on the internet before being promptly removed.
