Primary school ‘on lockdown’ after armed police swarm estate
Armed police have arrived at an estate in Middlesbrough as a nearby primary school was put into lockdown.
Three people have been arrested in the Stockton estate in the Portrack area after officers were seen entering four homes with sniffer dogs as they carried out pre-planned warrants.
The action was part of a widening investigation to disrupt drug gangs in the north east of England.
Nearby Tilery Primary School issued an alert to parents, saying: ‘Due to an ongoing police incident on the Portrack estate, if your child is coming to school, can you please take them to the main hall.’
