A pregnant mother and her unborn baby died after her two-year-old son got hold of a gun and shot her in the back, police said.
Laura Ilg, 31, called 911 and reported that she was 33 weeks pregnant and her toddler had shot her, according to the Norwalk Police Department.
‘I’m upstairs. I need help,’ Ilg said in a 911 call released by cops.
The dispatcher said, ‘Is your front door unlocked?’

‘Tell them to break in, please, hurry,’ said Ilg and then began screaming, according to NBC News.
Ilg’s husband Alek also called 911 to report that she screamed for him to call police.
Cops arrived three minutes after the first call, at 1.14pm, last Friday. They forced their way into the Ohio home and provided aid as Ilg explained what had transpired.
She was rushed to Fisher Titus Medical Center and underwent an emergency C-section.

Less than an hour after the first 911 call, Ilg’s unborn son was pronounced dead. The mother was pronounced dead shortly after, cops said.
Police recovered a SIG Sauer P365, shell casings and the loaded magazine from the home. The handgun was stored in a nightstand in the couple’s bedroom, they told investigators. They also had a 12-gauge shotgun and a rifle in their home.
‘The gun was left out, but it shouldn’t have been accessible to the child,’ Norwalk Police Chief David Smith told WOIO. ‘Apparently she didn’t know he was in the room at the time.’
An investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.

Ilg’s unborn son would have been her second child.
‘She always wanted to be a mother and wife,’ states Ilg’s obituary.
‘She enjoyed attending her church and spending time with her family.’
Ilg was an avid reader, had a particular liking for Harry Potter, crafting, playing board games and ‘was a child at heart’, according to her obituary.
The visitation for Ilg and her unborn boy, Talisen, took place on Friday.
