Welsh Government confirms second homes and Airbnb crackdown with radical tax plan
The Daily Post says FIRST MINISTER Mark Drakeford and leader of Plaid Cymru Adam Price, are set to announce a new package of measures, to address the second homes issue in Wales.
At a joint press conference today, they will give an update on action being taken to ensure everyone is able to afford to live in their local community, whether that’s buying or renting a home, a Welsh Government spokesman said.
It starts at 11am and the measures will include changes to planning, taxation and plans for a new licensing scheme for holiday lets.
The Wales Tourism Alliance (WTA) has previously said it will back a registration scheme as it is keen to weed out unregulated operators who typically spend less on regulatory compliance and contribute less to local economies.
