Boris Johnson ‘was at another No 10 party during first lockdown’
The Metro says Boris Johnson joined Downing Street aides for another party at No 10 during the first coronavirus lockdown, it has been alleged.
The prime minister is said to have told one attendee they deserved a drink for ‘beating back’ the virus at a rule-breaking event attended by around 20 civil servants and advisers on May 15 last year, according to reports.
At the time, people from different households were restricted to one-on-one meetings outdoors and gatherings indoors were strictly forbidden.
The revelations – uncovered by a joint investigation by The Independent and The Guardian – are likely to raise questions about whether there has been a culture of rule flouting in No 10 throughout the pandemic.
