Poland is making radical reforms to its immigration and nationalization policies. Speculators are suggesting Poland is indirectly forcing Ex-Polish nationals and those living abroad to gain nationality, so they can be called up for national service.
The Polish authorities feel a lack of nationalism will make them vulnerable to a potential attack from Russia.
Poland is set to become one of the biggest contributors to NATO and poised to be one of the most powerful countries in Europe, because of its place within the EU and strategic location near the EU countries.
Polish Citizens must now prove they are Polish Nationals
If a citizen of the Republic of Poland is obliged to present a Polish passport or a Polish ID card during border control – depending on the direction of travel.
If they are traveling to Poland with a National ID document from another country, they will be treated as a citizen of that country. However, if they have a foreign ID from a third country (e.g. the USA), they will have to meet the requirements of Tourists from that third country, like all the nationals visiting Poland as a Tourust from that country.
Among other things, the time of their stay in the Republic of Poland will be limited to 90 days in a 180-day period, exceeding which is considered a violation of the law and could result in prosecution.
A Border Guard also has the power to investigate their permitted entry at the border control. the traveler has Polish citizenship and does not have a valid Polish document, i.e. – depending on the direction of travel – a passport or an identity card, Then he/she is obliged not to allow such a person to cross the border.
Even if this person entered the territory of Poland on the basis of a document confirming the citizenship of another country. Pursuant to the regulations in force in Poland, mainly the Act on Polish Citizenship, the possession of dual citizenship by Polish citizens is admissible, but it does not result in the right to prefer foreign citizenship over Polish citizenship.
Under Polish law, in no circumstances can a Polish citizen (ie has dual nationality) whilst in the Republic of Poland demand that he/she be treated as a citizen of another country.
Therefore, we suggest people who, apart from Polish citizenship, also have citizenship of another country, and who plan to travel to Poland, make efforts to obtain a Polish passport in advance.
