A serving police officer has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was found injured at a hotel.
Officers were scrambled to the hotel on Brook Street, Manchester, at around 11.30pm on Thursday.
The woman was taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.
James Riley, 27, an officer with Lancashire Constabulary, was charged with attempted murder.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday.
