Pokémon Violet – Miraidon goes for gold (pic: Reddit)
A new Pokémon Violet glitch allows you to change the colour of your Miraidon to make it look extra legendary.
When Pokémon Scarlet and Violet launched a few months ago it became infamous for its bugs and glitches, which have become an all too familiar problem for the franchise.
Although sometimes they can cause your game to break, like one player who got stuck inside the Naranja Academy in Pokémon Scarlet, most of them are harmless and funny.
Not long ago, a glitch turned legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon into aeroplanes and allowed you to travel super long distances in Paldea.
Now, a player has found a way to give their Miraidon a rather extravagant makeover, which ends with it looking like a Zapdos – which is still missing from Scarlet and Violet.
In a short clip posted on Reddit, a Pokémon Violet player named Fieryfurnace999 swaps out Miraidon from the party and sends it into its ride mode during a heavy sandstorm.
This results in the legendary pokémon acquiring a new, shiny look, though not for long, sadly.
Fieryfurnace999 confirmed that the golden colour gradually faded, and Miraidon reverted to its usual purple hue.
However, Miraidon’s paws remained gold until the player fast-traveled to a new area – they performed the trick while hanging around Cascarrafa.
Many fellow players started speculating that this could be a glitch related to Miraidon’s shiny form, which hasn’t been revealed yet.
The player who posted the clip described it as a ‘weird’ glitch with ‘sandstorm textures’, but it’s true origins are still unclear.
Another player joked that Fieryfurnace999 had to run over 10,000 Pokémon and unlocked the gold skin, with another describing it as a ‘golden experience’.
More: Pokémon
A different player shared that they somehow managed to turn their Miraidon invisible, which would be quite inconvenient as the pokémon is also your primary form of transport.
While it’s unknown whether Miraidon or Koraidon will receive their own shiny versions any time soon, a new leak has shown six unreleased pokémon that could be added to Scarlet and Violet.
On top of that, the much-speculated DLC expansion for the games seems like it could feature the paradox forms for legendary creatures Suicune and Virizion.
