PMQs – What’s happening this week? Rail Strikes, by-election and inflation on the agenda
The PM will face Labour’s Sir Keir Starmer for this week’s Prime Minister’s Questions – the first questioning since the UK’s biggest strikes in 30 years started.
There are no official worker walkouts today but travellers are still expected to face widespread disruption due to the knock-on effects of Tuesday’s strikes.
There is plenty on the agenda for this week’s PMQs – including by-elections in both Tiverton and Honiton and Wakefield taking place on Thursday.

What’s on the agenda for this PMQs this week?
At the top of the agenda will be the rail walkouts – the largest rail strike for several decades on Tuesday. Workers are calling for better pay and an end to compulsory redundancy; RMT wants a pay rise of 7 per cent, while employers have so far offered 3 per cent.
The news on inflation reached 9.1 per cent on Wednesday morning, with the Bank of England expecting the figure to reach 11 per cent by the end of the year.
The Tories are also facing a by-election defeat this Thursday with the Lib Dems polling neck-and-neck with the Conservatives.
