Piers Morgan expressed his relief that he never apologised to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when one was ‘demanded.’
The TV personality, 57, has been an outspoken critic of the Duke and Duchess and Sussex following their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, which ultimately resulted in him quitting Good Morning Britain.
During Tuesday’s instalment of his Uncensored show, Morgan defended Jeremy Clarkson’s apology to the Prince and the Suits actress after his latest column in The Sun was met with intense backlash.
During his opening monologue, he questioned: ‘Why should the Royal family apologise when you consider what’s happened to Jeremy Clarkson?
‘He wrote, what he’s admitted was a stupid and inflammatory newspaper column that overstepped the mark. The outrage was predictable and it was frankly justified, as he now concedes.’
Following the backlash, the Clarkson’s Farm frontman broke his social media absence on Monday to reveal that he directly apologised to Meghan and Harry in an Email sent on Christmas Day.

Morgan later reflected on his final few days at Good Morning Britain and addressed why he ‘refused’ to apologise for ‘doubting’ Markle considered suicide at the height of racist abuse.
‘I believe she lies,’ he added.
‘And secondly, if I did apologise what do you think would happen?…

‘They wouldn’t accept it. She wouldn’t accept it. She would just use it as an excuse to go even harder. It’s what they do. They are the victims, always. Perennial victims. So I refused and I left and I’m very happy about that otherwise I wouldn’t be here doing the show if I hadn’t done that.’
In a fresh statement, a spokesperson for the married couple said: ‘On December 25, 2022, Mr Clarkson wrote solely to Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.
‘The contents of this correspondence were marked Private and Confidential.’

They continued: ‘While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr Clarkson, what remains to be addressed is his long standing pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories, and misogyny.
‘Unless each of his other pieces were also written “in a hurry”, as he states, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared in haste, but rather a series of articles shared in hate.’
Piers Morgan Uncensored airs weekdays at 8pm on TalkTV.
