Piers Morgan has addressed offensive tweets that were sent from his Twitter account last month, confirming he was hacked.
In one tweet, whoever hacked Morgan’s account described singer Ed Sheeran as a ‘ginger p***k’, prompting the presenter to clarify on Monday that he’s a fan of not just Sheeran’s pipes and award-winning songwriting capabilities, but also that lovely mop of his.
Morgan, 57, kicked off the week by saying: ‘By the way, apologies for all the abusive nonsense posted on my feed after I was hacked (yes, yes, do your own jokes) on Boxing Day, and in particular to @edsheeran who I think is a very gifted singer-songwriter with a fine head of hair, not a “ginger p***k”.’
The former Good Morning Britain presenter also shared a photo of Sheeran with his 8.3million Twitter followers.
Morgan was locked out of his Twitter account last month following a hack that saw a string of offensive tweets posted from his account.
Rude remarks made about Sheeran aside, the broadcaster’s account also took aim at the late Queen Elizabeth II and published racial slurs.

All previous tweets on Morgan’s page, as well as his display picture and banner, were completely wiped in the wake of the hack, which prompted his son, Spencer Morgan, to quip: ‘Can’t believe I now have the biggest twitter account in my family. Never thought this day would come.’
Morgan’s eldest son had earlier shared an update on the situation, revealing: ‘Obviously dad’s finally been hacked. Ideal when he’s in a different time zone.’
The team behind the Twitter account for his TalkTV series Uncensored even pleaded with the platform’s boss, Elon Musk, to take action after the hacking.

‘In case you were wondering, @piersmorgan has been hacked. Any chance of getting him back, @elonmusk?’ they wrote.
However, it wasn’t long before Morgan ended up back on the platform, marking his return by taking a swipe at Prince Harry.
After watching the Duke of Sussex’s explosive ITV interview with Tom Bradby, Morgan tweeted on Sunday: ‘Never seen an unhappier “happy man” in my life.
