Piers Morgan and Richard Osman were horrified on hearing the news of the Bounty bar being sacked from the Celebrations chocolate box.
Expressing heartbreak over the loss of the coconutty treat, the divisive broadcaster immediately went on a Twitter rant, slating Mars Wrigley for killing Christmas.
Piers wrote to the creators of the Celebration pick-n-mix tub: ‘WHAT?! This is a diabolical decision. Bounty bars are the best chocolate in the world.
‘Shame on you @MarsUK – you just killed Christmas.’
The axing received some positive feedback, however, from Dan Walker who was delighted at the news and condemned the snack as the ‘devil’s chocolate’.
Weighing in, author Richard Osman let his opinion on the polarising issue be known in a response to Dan’s triumph: ‘First you call Ben Elton an unlikely political commentator, and now this.

‘I give it eighteen months before you go full Piers Morgan’.
The banishing of the bounty also sparked reaction from Jason Manford as he mourned the loss of the ‘dad’s favourite’.
He tweeted: ‘How the hell can Celebrations remove the dad’s favourite, Bounty, and yet keep a chocolate bar that has absolutely outstayed its welcome, the Mars bar?’
Lorraine Kelly was next to throw her Bounty fan club T-shirt into the ring.

During her live broadcast on Thursday, the morning show presenter reacted to the announcement and oozed disgust at the ‘very disturbing news’.
Reading straight down the lens, the serious-looking host told viewers she was ‘not amused’, revealing she was a ‘huge fan of Bounty’ and drew the lane at the chocolate discrimination.
The move comes after the brand discovered 39% of buyers don’t like the Bounty option and have devised a strategy to start selling limited edition tubs free from the classic choice.
Making up for empty space, the company promised to fill the gaps in no-bounty boxes with additional Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, Galaxy and Maltesers sweets.
Until December 18, Tesco customers can exchange tubs bought at selected Christmas Market sites for ‘No Bounty’ alternatives.
