Peter Kay fans, keep your eyes and ears peeled – the comedian has a big announcement on the way!
Last month, fans of the comedian were sent into a frenzy when tickets for his comeback tour went on sale, marking his first live performances in 12 years.
The tour began a few days ago in Manchester, with dates set to span all the way through to 2024, including a landmark residency at London’s O2 Arena.
In a statement shared on his social media channels, the 49-year-old expressed his gratitude towards all the dedicated fans who’ve continued to show him support amid his long-awaited return to the stage.
‘I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to the first shows in Manchester. It was incredible to be a part of such a happy experience,’ he said.
‘Everybody deserves a bit of joy. Here’s to a lot more shows to come!!’
He then added an intriguing tease, concluding his message by stating: ‘P.S. big announcement Thursday on Sara Cox Drivetime Show just after 6pm.’
Several Twitter users immediately began speculating what this big news could be, with some wondering whether the comic could announce the reprisal of his 2000s sitcom Phoenix Nights.
‘Really glad Peter Kay is back, heard that he got a 5min standing ovation when he walked out on stage on night 1 in Manchester,’ one person tweeted.
‘I wonder what his big announcement will be? Personally I’m hoping it is the long awaited return of Phoenix Nights,’ they added.

‘Return of Phoenix Nights 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻,’ another hopeful fan wrote, while someone else offered an alternative suggestion by remarking: ‘Plz let this be another series of Car Share.’
Peter’s ticket sale for his tour was in extremely high demand to say the least, with several people expressing their astonishment over tickets immediately being resold for thousands of pounds.
The performer previously promised to match prices from his last arena tour in 2010, emphasising that he wanted to help people amid the cost-of-living crisis.
‘And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35 – the same price they were on my previous tour in 2010,’ he said.
