Peter Crouch has teamed up with Paul Potts to release an album of football chants in order to raise money for LGBTQ charity Stonewall.
The football star, 41, and the opera singer, 52, who won the first series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2007, have recorded an eight-track album released by bookmaker Paddy Power, which has committed to a minimum donation of £25,000 to the charity.
Backed by a 20-piece classical orchestra, Crouchy Conducts the Classics will feature reworking of popular football terrace chants, including We Love You England, VAR My Lord and You’re Not Singing Anymore, that latter of which will also see Paul supported by a full gospel choir, chamber choir and three world class operatic soloists.
The album is available to stream on Spotify and iTunes, with all proceeds going to support Stonewall’s campaign to tackle LGBTQIA+ oppression in Qatar, where this year’s world cup is being held.
Fifa has faced heavy criticism after it was announced that this year’s World Cup would be held in Qatar, where being gay is illegal and can be punished by death.
All of the profits from Crouchy Conducts the Classics, which is released on November 15, will go to LGBTQ charity Stonewall to fight oppression in Qatar and around the world.

‘We’ve taken the best terrace chants and sprinkled a bit of festive magic on them. The whole team put in a big shift and I’m really happy with the teamwork, dedication and the finished product.
‘With Paddy Power’s bank roll and the people’s support we hope a Christmas number one album is coming home…at the very least.’
Paul added: ‘Our goal with the album is to inspire England fans to cheer on the team give the country the lift they so desperately need right now. It was an honour to get the World Cup call-up from an England legend like Peter. I’ve always looked up to him.’
