A man who sexually assaulted two carers who were looking after his disabled son has been jailed.
Ghulam Hussan was struggling with the overnight care for his son and hired some help to allow him to sleep at night.
Manchester Crown Court heard the 45-year-old assaulted two women in a period of six month, leaving them significantly affected.
One victim told jurors her whole life changed mentally, emotionally and physically after Hussan assaulted her.
During one visit in November 2019, he offered to help one of them by giving her a massage. During the act he sexually touched her.
Months later, in April 2020, the dad massaged a second carer, also molesting her. She immediately reported him to the police, but he denied wrongdoing.
Following a trial, Hussan was found guilty of three offences of sexual assault and one offence of assault by penetration.
Summarising the case, the presiding judge, recorder Andrew Long said: ‘For years you had been the principal carer for your son. He is disabled and relies upon you.
‘With that you got overnight carers to look after your son whilst you slept.’
Mr Long stressed he had ‘no doubt’ the victims felt sorry for Hussan and were sympathetic to his position.
The court heard that during the first incident the defendant removed one of the carer’s clothing from the waist up and touched her sexually, despite knowing she was uncomfortable.
Less than six months later, he did the same thing with another carer.
‘Then again in May, you stopped her and gave her a message, and touched her naked body including [a sex act],’ the judge continued.
‘You were convicted after a trial, and a probation report described you behaved in a sexually predatory way.
‘You pose a high risk to members of the public, specifically female carers. You have never acknowledged your guilt nor expressed regret or remorse.
‘There are three victims in this case, two are those you abused and the other is your son. He relies on you to look after him.’
Hussan, of Alfred Street, Bury, was found guilty of three offences of sexual assault and one offence of assault by penetration.
He was jailed for 21 months and must sign onto the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.
The court heard that social services have a plan in place to ensure his son has ongoing care whilst he is in custody.
