Pakistan says children killed in Iranian strike
On Tuesday, Pakistan reported the tragic death of two children and the injury of three others in strikes carried out by Iran, its neighbouring country. According to a news agency affiliated with Iran’s military, the strikes targeted two bases associated with the militant group Jaish al-Adl. However, Pakistan disputed this claim, denouncing it as an “illegal act” that could result in “serious consequences.”
This incident marks the third instance, following attacks on Iraq and Syria, where Iran has conducted strikes in recent days. The missile attack on Pakistan is an unusual occurrence, with Tuesday’s strike impacting a village in the vast southwestern province of Balochistan, bordering the two nations.
In a strongly worded statement, Pakistan’s foreign ministry strongly condemned the “unprovoked violation of its airspace by Iran”.
