P Diddy faces more than 100 new assault allegations
More than 100 individuals are set to sue rap musician P Diddy for sexual assault, rape, and sexual exploitation, according to US lawyer Tony Buzbee. Some alleged victims include minors, with accusations of abuse going back to when they were as young as nine years old.
Erica Wolff, a lawyer representing Mr Combs, has categorically denied the accusations, calling them “false and defamatory.”
The lawsuit is the latest in a series of legal challenges for Mr Combs, who was recently arrested and faces criminal charges for racketeering and sex trafficking. He remains in federal custody, appealing a denied bail.
Buzbee, who is representing 120 alleged victims from more than 25 states, revealed that half of the plaintiffs are minors. The allegations span from 1991 to as recently as this year, with incidents reported in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. Many of the alleged victims claim they were date raped at parties hosted by Combs, including album release events, New Year’s Eve, and Independence Day celebrations.
Several minors allege they were lured into abusive situations with promises of being made stars in the music industry. Buzbee described a pattern where victims were given laced drinks before being assaulted. He stressed that this is not a class-action lawsuit; individual cases will be filed for each victim.
His firm is also reviewing another 100 potential cases following thousands of allegations against Combs.
