Chase Stokes has opened up about his close friendship with Madelyn Cline, following their split.
The pair first met while filming Outer Banks together, and instantly became close, sparking speculation that they were dating behind the scenes.
They went Instagram official in June, 2020, sending fans into meltdown with loved-up snaps and cute comments.
However, it wasn’t to last and they called time on their relationship the following November – with Chase recently linked to musician Kelsea Ballerini.
Speaking in a new interview ahead of season three of Outer Banks landing on Netflix on February 23, the John B actor insisted that, despite going their separate ways, he wanted to make his friendship with his castmate a priority.
‘A long time ago, we agreed to always put the work first. So I think going into this next chapter, we just wanted to equally honor that promise,’ he said.

‘Truth be told, she’s an incredible actress. She’s a lovely human being. And I’m over the moon and just super proud of the work that we’ve done over the past three seasons.
‘I’m always going to root for her.’
Shedding light on his bond with Kelsea, after a very cozy Instagram snap emerged, he teased that they ‘just been spending some time together’.
He added to People Magazine: ‘Kelsea is a lovely, lovely girl. She’s great. We’re having a good time.’

Madelyn, who plays Sarah Cameron in the popular series, has also moved on from their relationship, separately telling Cosmopolitan that she is ‘happily taken’ with a mystery partner.
Despite the former couple meeting at work, the Glass Onion actress previously revealed that they put rules in place for themselves so that their private lives didn’t overlap with their work commitments.
Appearing on the Talk in 2021, before their split, she said: ‘The biggest thing for me going back to work, I was nervous, because for me my workspace was incredibly sacred. It’s very personal to me and I do not like to bring any sort of personal troubles to my workspace.

‘I’m notorious for even turning my phone off and not answering it for hours, or just like leaving it in my trailer, because I like to focus on what’s in front of me. I’m very much of a one-track mind kind of person.
‘We laid the groundwork first and foremost, and I was like, “This is a big priority to me, and you know, from what I know based on how you work, it is for you too.
‘“But I want to make sure that we hold each other accountable and that we don’t bring anything personal that could potentially distract each other or our fellow castmates on the day.” So, it wasn’t hard at all, and I really respect that about him and our relationship.’
